“Five aeroplanes transported over five million face masks, twenty thousand test kits and five thousand pairs of gloves to Hungary on Friday and Saturday to help healthcare workers protect against the coronavirus epidemic”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on his Facebook page on Friday.
“As the number of people infected with the virus increases, so is the burden on the healthcare system”, Mr. Szijjártó wrote in his post. “It is however vital to the success of the work of doctors and nurses, who have performed outstandingly so far, that the required special instruments and protective equipment is continuously available”, the Minister emphasised, explaining that the airlift between China and Hungary, which was also supplemented by a Korean shipment on Saturday, is intended to assure the continuous replenishment of this equipment. The planes landed at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport.
