The experiences of German automotive industry companies in Hungary are extremely positive, and they have unbroken faith in Hungary, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Thursday in Budapest after his meeting with the President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
Mr Szijjártó underlined in his interview given to the public service media: it testifies to this ongoing trust that in the last two years alone, German automotive industry companies have brought 25 investments worth some one and a half billion euros to Hungary.

Regarding his talks with Matthias Wissmann, he highlighted that the head of the sector’s leading German interest representation described the Hungarian governmental policy which, with regard to the considerations of the automotive industry, always equally takes criteria of competitiveness into account in addition to the protection of the environment, as highly positive and reasonable.
For instance, when the European Union decides on issues regarding carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions, Hungary also attempts to enforce criteria of competitiveness.
The Minister said: he agreed with the President of VDA to continue to engage in ongoing consultations with German automotive industry players.
Cooperation with the German automotive industry fundamentally determines the performance of the Hungarian national economy, Mr Szijjártó pointed out.
