Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó confirmed today that the Government Information Office will in future be under the supervisor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

On Thursday, Hungarian daily Népszava published an article stating that in future the Government Information Office may no longer be supervised by the Prime Minister’s Office, but may be moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó confirmed the paper’s information on Thursday in reply to a question from the press.

As he explained, the Ministry will working in close cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Office. First, the related legislation must be drawn up to enable the realisation of the most efficient cooperation possible, the Foreign Minister said.
