“The government has provided for the drinking water supply of one hundred thousand people in Uganda, and has also established a cyber defence analysis centre within the framework of the first phase of the agreement concluded between the two countries in 2019”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stated on his Facebook page on Friday.
Mr. Szijjártó said that according to the agreement concluded with Ugandan Foreign Minister Sam Kahamba Kutesa, Hungary will be giving Uganda five billion forints (EUR 14.2 million) in development funding within the framework of a three-year program. “The next two projects involve the development of an identification system suitable for keeping records of the migrants and refugees who arrive in the country, and supplying a coronary medicine centre with medical equipment”, he added.
“The government continues to profess that migration can only be stopped if we take assistance to where the trouble is, and thereby avert the emigration of millions of people”, he emphasised.
