Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and Czech Foreign Minister Martin Stropnicky have held a telephone meeting during which they confirmed their countries’ commitment to Visegrád Group (V4) cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

The ministers also agreed that in view of the extreme challenges currently facing Europe the continent needs governments that “speak honestly and clearly, and call problems and their solutions directly by name”.

Mr. Szijjártó wished the new Czech Government luck for its upcoming vote of confidence in Parliament.

The two ministers also agreed that the first bilateral foreign ministers’ meeting would be held on 22 January in Brussels, the Ministry said in the statement.
