The “Hungarian Days” were held for the fifth time in Tel Aviv on 15-17 October. At the large-scale festival realised within the framework of the Israeli Hungarian Cultural Season with funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry’s Deputy State Secretary for Cultural Diplomacy Márton Schőberl gave a speech and planted a carob tree as a reinforcement of Israeli-Hungarian relations.

“Hungary and the State of Israel are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2019, which the Hungarian government has marked by organising a Hungarian cultural season in Israel, which has attracted over thirty-five thousand visitors from all over the country. The ‘Hungarian Days’ festival is one of the most important events of the season, which lasts until the end of October”, the Deputy State Secretary stressed.

According to Mr. Schőberl, the programs realised with the cooperation of Hungarian and Israeli partners have addressed the widest possible audience. “We have also striven to make the event interesting to families, and are offering a host of programs for children. Music and dance have been given major emphasis”, the Deputy State Secretary pointed out.

Mr. Schőberl highlighted the fact that Tel Aviv’s sister city, Budapest, also showcased its tourist attractions as part of the series of events.

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the regime change, the Tel Aviv “Hungarian Days” closed with a spectacular multimedia production entitled “The Soft Touch of Freedom”.
