At the Hungarian-Russian economic forum of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), the Parliamentary State Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that the Russian market is very important for Hungary, therefore Hungarian enterprises must be ready for the opportunities after the end of the Russian embargo.
László Szabó recalled that up until last year Hungary’s most important non-EU partner was Russia.
He also emphasised that, as an EU member state, Hungary supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and voted for sanctions against Russia. As a result of Russia’s economic weight, however, it is essential to find a peaceful solution for the conflict as soon as possible.
