On 26 April 2016, a cleantech business forum was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, the Embassy of Finland and Finnish investment promotion agency Finpro at the premises of the Embassy of Finland in Budapest. The forum focused on business opportunities in electromobility, waste-to-energy solutions and smart future.
In his opening address, Ambassador-at-large for Energy Security Pál Ságvári pointed out that Hungary would like to take advantage from being a second mover in the sustainability business by adopting in-depth solutions already applied by technology frontrunner countries. Hungary acknowledges Finnish excellence in the cleantech sector and the Government welcomes Finnish investors who help modernize the Hungarian industry in accordance with the Irinyi Plan, the Government’s recently adopted strategic re-industrialization blueprint.
Finnish participants of the Forum included green energy producer and supplier Fortum Oyj, developer and supplier of process technologies for energy companies Valmet Oyj and cleantech advisory service and collaboration platform Solved. Hungarian participants represented major players in the electromobility, renewable energy and smart technologies sectors. In the Forum, Finnish offers, Hungarian investment needs and business cooperation opportunities were discussed in detail. Representatives of the Finnish companies will continue to explore the Hungarian market in the course of bilateral talks with Hungarian stakeholders tomorrow.
