Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó met with Bosnian Foreign Minister Mirko Šarović to discuss bilateral relations on the side-lines of the meeting of Chinese and Central-Eastern European commerce ministers in Ningpo, eastern China.

In a statement issued to Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday, Mr. Szijjártó said that at the meeting he had assured his Bosnian counterpart that Hungary remains a committed supporter of Bosnia-Hercegovina’s Euro-Atlantic integration and membership of the World Trade organisation (WTO).

Mr. Szijjártó also informed his colleague that Eximbank has opened a USD 61.5 million credit line to facilitate cooperation between Hungarian and Bosnian enterprises and increase trade flow from its current annual level of EUR 400 million .

The parties welcomed the fact that a direct passenger air route between Budapest and Sarajevo would be launched at the end of this year.

They also agreed that Hungary would continue the training of Bosnian flood protection experts within the framework of the Danube Region Strategy, the statement reads.
