It was with deep sorrow that Hungary learnt about the terrorist attack committed today against a Christian church, claiming the lives of 9 people.

We condemn in the strongest terms all forms of violence against religious communities, particularly committed in the form of terrorism.

We offer our deepest sympathy to the victims' relatives, and we wish the injured a quick recovery. We are confident that the perpetrators of this barbaric terrorist attack will not be able to break the unity of the Egyptian nation.

Hungary assures its overwhelming support to the Egyptian security forces' efforts to fight terrorism.
