The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade was deeply shocked to hear of the terror attack at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

It is particularly abhorrent and shocking that a terrorist attacked and killed people who were gathered to celebrate a baby's naming ceremony. We hereby express our deepest condolences to the relatives of the victims who died in the shooting and wish the injured a speedy recovery. Hungary has proclaimed a policy of zero tolerance towards Anti-Semitism; we reject and condemn all forms of racism and Anti-Semitism. Hungary stands by the Unites States in these difficult hours following the tragedy; our American friends can always count on Hungary in the fight against terrorism.

According to the information provided by the American authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has no knowledge of any Hungarian victims.
