“Hungary continues to regard Israel as a strategic partner”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said during a meeting with Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President of the Jewish World Congress Robert Singer.
According to a statement issued to Hungarian news agency MTI by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on Friday evening, Mr. Szijjártó also stressed: “Achieving a balanced approach towards Israel on the part of the international community is one of the focal points of Hungarian foreign policy”.
“Bilateral relations between Hungary and Israel have never been as good as they are now; Hungary continues to regard Israel as a strategic partner”, the Minister said, adding: “In Hungary, we have declared a policy of zero tolerance with relation to anti-Semitism”.
“Central Europe’s largest Jewish community lives in Budapest, and the Hungarian Government will continue to do everything possible in future to preserve Europe’s Judeo-Christian heritage”, Mr. Szijjártó declared according to the statement.
