“Hungary is among the world’s ten most attractive investment destinations”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Hungarian M1 current affairs television on Friday.
Quoting this year’s report by American investment magazine Site Selection, Mr. Szijjártó added: “The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) was voted the best such agency within the region spanning from Central Europe to Central Asia”.
“This is also an acknowledgement for the Hungarian people, because when investment decisions are made, they examine the job market situation and the level of training of prospective workers; the knowledge and diligence of the Hungarian people is absolutely competitive”, he said. The Minister also spoke about the fact that last year the country broke all previous records with relation to investment value: 98 major foreign investment projects arrived in Hungary at a total value of 1,380 billion forints (EUR 4.25bn).
“Following the Germans, the Americans are continuing to invest with high momentum, but it is evident that the tempo of the changes in the global economy are being dictated to at least a great an extent from the East than from the West in view of the fact that Japanese, Chinese and Korean enterprises are regularly appearing with their development projects, which are also determining the development of the European economy”, Mr. Szijjártó said.
