Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said that Hungary is open to discuss all issues with the United States, commenting on the news of Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland’s Budapest visit this March.
Answering a question raised during a press conference held in relation to another subject on Friday, the Minister said that there is continuous political consultation with the government of the United States in order to raise the level of political cooperation between the two countries to the high standards of partnership within the fields of defence and economy. The Minister is of the opinion that Victoria Nuland’s visit is in line with this process.
The political dialogue started in October last year will be continued in Budapest by reviewing all the aspects of political cooperation, he said.
According to Péter Szijjártó, it is good that the U.S. Department of Sate believes that it is important to hold face-to-face consultations.
