“Hungary is providing all possible assistance within its means to persecuted Christian communities around the world”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó at a meeting with U.S. Ambassador for international religious freedom Sam Brown in Budapest on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Szijjártó stressed that the Government is paying particular attention to Christian communities living in the Middle East, to enable families that have been driven away from their home to return to their place of residence at the earliest opportunity. The United States greatly appreciates Hungary’s activities within this field, and an agreement has been concluded on establishing closer cooperation to support the return home of persecuted middle Eastern Christians, the Ministry stated.
