“Hungary is supporting the American candidate, President Donald Trump’s White House Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Liddell, in the competition for the post of OECD Secretary-General”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared on his official Facebook page on Sunday.

In the post, Mr. Szijjártó pointed out that the election of a new Secretary-General will soon be taking place in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), an institution that will be playing a major role in forming the new global economic order. “We believe that patriotic economic policy does indeed have a place under the sun, and we insist that economic policy must remain within a national sphere of competence, and that economic policies should bear the hallmarks of national idiosyncrasies”, the Minister explained.
