The Hungarian Ambassador to Stockholm will submit an official complaint to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs today with relation to “grossly slanderous statements” against Hungary by the Swedish Government’s migration minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told Hungarian news agency MTI.
According to the statement, Swedish migration minister Morgan Johansson made grossly slanderous statements against Hungary when he claimed Hungarian police had used tear gas against women and children who were asking for asylum.
In contrast, the truth is that aggressive immigrants pelted Hungarian police with stones and pieces of concrete for several hours, 11 of whom were injured, the Ministry stressed, adding that police action was exclusively aimed at stopping the aggression.
As a result, the Hungarian Ambassador to Stockholm will submit an official complaint to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, on the orders of Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.
