Hungary welcomes the announcement by the UNSG Special Representative Bernardino León about the formation of the new Libyan Government of National Accord.

We believe that the agreement reached after several months of difficult talks is an important step towards the solution of the conflict. We fully support the leaders of the Government of National Accord in their efforts to form the new government.

We expect the Libyan parties involved to endorse this agreement which can open a path for the Libyan people towards peace and prosperity.

We believe that the formation of a functioning Government of National Accord with the full recognition and support of the international community will be in the interest and benefit of all the Libyan people and will strengthen the security and stability of the region.
