Hungary, as a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and a state that plays the role of NATO liaison ambassador in Montenegro, welcomes the statement by Vice President of the United States of America Joe Biden in which the American party has expressed its support for Montenegro’s invitation to join NATO.

Hungary, as a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance Organisation and a state that plays the role of NATO liaison ambassador in Montenegro, welcomes the statement by Vice President of the United States of America Joe Biden in which the American party has expressed its support for Montenegro’s invitation to join NATO.

We trust that all member states will support Montenegro’s invitation to join NATO during the upcoming meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in December 2015. According to both the information we have available and our opinion, Montenegro is ready to be invited to join NATO, in addition to which the work performed in recent months and years are clear and definite proof of Montenegro’s commitment to Euro-Atlantic integration.

It is our firm belief that Montenegro’s NATO membership will reinforce stability in the Western Balkans and create the foundations for long-term peace and development within the region.
