According to most recent information two Hungarian nationals were aboard the Norman Atlantic ferry that caught fire off the coast of Greece on Sunday. One Hungarian national is in safety, information regarding the other passenger is still to follow - reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to Hungarian news agency MTI, on Monday afternoon.
Instructed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, the Embassy of Hungary in Athens and Rome are on duty, treating the situation with utmost importance, and are in close touch with Hungarian authorities, providing information as soon as possible.
According to Greece Merchant Marine Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis the fire on the Norman Atlantic ferry has claimed five lives.
