“Kazakhstan has donated 100 thousand face masks to Hungary, meaning the country has now received assistance from four countries of the Turkic Council towards the fight against the coronavirus pandemic”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday.

The Minister said he had just spoken to Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Thleuberdi, whom he thanked for continuously enabling aeroplanes transporting healthcare equipment from China to Hungary to make technical stops at Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev International Airport. “Aeroplanes operated by Wizz Air have alone performed 78 technical landings in Kazakhstan to date”, he added.

“We agreed that we will continue to work in close cooperation in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and accordingly aeroplanes involved in the China-Hungary airlift will be able to continue to use the airport of the Kazakh capital for refuelling and other technical purposes”, Mr. Szijjártó wrote.
