Minister of State for Security Policy and International Cooperation István Mikola gave an address to a full lecture hall on 10 November at the University of Szeged Faculty of Law and Political Science.
The Minister of State said that hundreds of thousands of people have set out from Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia to reach the EU's richest countries. This huge migration flow was unexpected not only for the EU, but also for the entire developed world.
In terms of the background to the migration, Mr. Mikola presented the UN’s latest report; nearly 60 million people have had to leave their homes due to wars and armed conflicts around the world, and the numbers continue to increase.
