The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade was deeply shocked to learn about the Barcelona terrorist incident, and condemns the cowardly attack in the strongest possible terms.

In its communication sent to the Hungarian news agency MTI after the attack in Barcelona on Thursday afternoon in which a van rammed through crowds of people, the Foreign Ministry wrote that Hungary’s Consulate General in Barcelona is in ongoing communication with the competent authorities and is providing all necessary consular assistance for Hungarian nationals in Barcelona and relatives who may have enquiries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade offers its condolences to the relatives of the victims, and wishes the injured a swift recovery.

A van rammed through crowds of pedestrians on Thursday afternoon in the centre of Barcelona. The police declared the incident a terrorist attack. There is no news yet regarding the nationalities of the victims. According to the latest communications, 13 people have lost their lives, and many have been injured.
