Tibor Navracsics, Hungary's minister of foreign affairs and trade, opened an honorary consulate in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik on Thursday, the ministry has said. Honorary Consul Katja Bakija will oversee consular services throughout the year.

Hungary has two other honorary consulates on the Adriatic coast: one in Rijeka and another in Split. Mr. Navracsics arrived in Croatia on Thursday for a two-day official visit.

On Friday the minister is attending Croatia Forum 2014, a panel discussion about the Western Balkan countries' EU integration and enlargement of the European Union. Mr. Navracsics will hold a series of separate bilateral talks with his Macedonian and New Zealand counterparts Nikola Poposki and Murray McCully, Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Takao Makino and US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland.
