The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade condemns the despicable attacks aimed at Christian communities in Sri Lanka in the strongest possible terms.
The Ministry was shocked to learn of the Easter Sunday bomb attacks, and condemns the terrible attacks in the strongest possible terms. Several blasts deliberately targeted the Christian community celebrating Easter in Church, which is an indescribably despicable act.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is in contact with the authorities, and there is currently no information on the fact that any Hungarians have been affected by the attacks. We assure the families of the victims and injured of our deepest sympathies.
Three Catholic churches and three hotels in Sri Lanka were hit by bomb attacks almost simultaneously on the morning of Easter Sunday. According to the information currently available, over one hundred and fifty people were killed and over four hundred were injured.
