“Early on Monday morning, another six aeroplanes arrived in Budapest bringing 5 million 300 thousand face masks, 6 million pairs of gloves and 86 thousand hazmat suits from Beijing and Shanghai”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on his Facebook page on Monday morning.

“The virus has no respect for our holidays, and accordingly the China-Hungary airlift must also continue to operate at Easter to assure the secure supply of healthcare equipment to hospitals, clinics, police officers and military units”, Mr. Szijjártó said. He also said that China’s customs regulations are becoming stricter in the interests of guaranteeing quality regulations, and the preparation of further shipments is occurring while taking this into account.

“At Easter, we think with particular respect about those who are taking part in healthcare protection efforts to combat the global pandemic, and who are taking care of our country’s security in this difficult situation”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said, explaining: “The continuous acquisition of protective equipment is vital to their work”.
