Colleen Bradley Bell, the new ambassador of the United States will arrive in Hungary next Monday, Minister of State for Economic Diplomacy Levente Magyar said in public television M1's Ma Reggel (“This Morning”) on Thursday.

The diplomat will be greeted with a "great deal of openness”, he stated, emphasising that the Hungarian-U.S. political discourse may gain further momentum and a new, positive direction with her arrival.

The Minister of State noted that “political difficulties will not bear upon our economic relations”, which are excellent and developing. The government has strategic partnership agreements with ten U.S. companies, about 40 out of the 50 largest U.S. multinationals are present in the country, and Hungary’s foreign trade surplus with the U.S. doubled over the previous year, he explained.

Levente Magyar also said that three new U.S. investments, bringing working capital in the range of billions of forints to the country, will be announced over the next few weeks; the first announcement is expected within days.
