Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó consulted his Slovenian counterpart Karl Erjavec by phone and informed him that Hungary will not be building a permanent border protection infrastructure on the Hungarian-Slovenian border – the Minister said on Thursday.
Interior ministers of the two countries had previously consulted about the steps that should be taken in case Croatia starts transporting migrants towards Slovenia. Preparatory field work at the Hungarian-Slovenian border is currently being carried out accordingly – the Minister explained.
Mr. Szijjártó declared that Hungary is not building a permanent border protection infrastructure on the Slovenian border. In case temporary border protection will become necessary, its implementation will be preceded by consultations with Slovenia.
