“Three aeroplanes and two heavy goods vehicles arrived in Hungary on Thursday bearing protective equipment. including one and a half million face masks, one million test kits, seventy respirators and hundred of parts required for their operation”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.

Mr. Szijjártó emphasised that thanks to the outstanding performance of healthcare workers, Hungary has succeeded in keeping the spread of the coronavirus under control, and accordingly it is the government’s responsibility to continue to provide the conditions required for the work of doctors and nurses in future. “In the interests of this, the acquisition of the equipment needed for special protection is continuous”, he said. “A similar level of traffic is expected via the China-Hungary airlift in the upcoming weeks and months to assure that the equipment necessary for protection is continuously available in hospitals and clinics in suitable quantity and quality”, the Minister added.
