“6 million 300 thousand face masks, 25 thousand isolation suits and 120 respirators have arrived in Hungary over the past two days”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.
The Minister explained that protection against the global pandemic has reached a new stage, and the main focus is now on health protection. “The equipment necessary for successful protection is continuously arriving in Hungary”, he added. “6 million 300 thousand face masks, 25 thousand isolation suits and 120 respirators arrived on Thursday and Friday”, he stated.
“The number of respirators imported this week has therefore increased to over 600, the highest weekly number since the outbreak of the epidemic”, he pointed out. “This is extremely important in view of the fact that acquiring respirators is the most important task with relation to preparing for a possible period of mass infection”, Mr. Szijjártó emphasised. “We will be continuing to take this into account with relation to procurements during the upcoming weeks”, he said.
