“Two heavy goods vehicles and one aeroplane arrived in Hungary on Wednesday bearing 3 million 120 thousand face masks, 2 million pairs of gloves and 164 respirators”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI.
“This is the performance of the airlift operating between China and Hungary over the past few hours, in view of the fact that shipments also arrived at other European airports, and were brought to Budapest by road”, the Minister explained.
“The instruments and equipment required to protect against the coronavirus epidemic are being distributed to hospitals and clinics to assure that they serve the healthcare protection efforts with relation to which we must prepare in the long term over the coming weeks and months”, he emphasised.
“Shipments will also be arriving continuously this week, and we will be providing information every day on the number of aeroplanes arriving and their cargo”, Mr. Szijjártó said.
