Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó held talks with Morocco’s Minister of Tourism, Air Travel, handicraft and Social Economy Mohamed Sajid in Budapest on Tuesday.
At the meeting, Mr. Szijjártó said that Hungary is supporting the stability of North African countries in view of the fact that the events of recent years have proven that “Europe’s stability begins with the stability of North Africa”.

Significant progress has also been achieved within the field of tourism, which represents the foundation of economic cooperation between Hungary and Morocco, in view of the fact that beginning today four direct passenger flights-a-week will be linking the two countries. Two flights-a-week will be commuting between Budapest and Marrakesh, and two between the capital and Agadir, as a result of which the travel time between the two countries will fall to half its current level.

100 scholarship students from Morocco are currently studying in Hungary with an oversubscription rate of 300 percent, as a result of which the Moroccan Government has asked that the number of places be increased.
