Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó held talks on cooperation opportunities with Kyrgyzstani Deputy Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev on Wednesday in Budapest.
Erlan Abdyldaev was in Budapest to attend the V4-Central Asia foreign ministers’ meeting, the Ministry said in a statement.
In view of the fact that the Central Asian region is extremely rich in water resources, the regional market is offering Hungarian water industry companies excellent opportunities to develop water reservoir capacities and with relation to sewage treatment and hydroelectric energy projects, the Ministry added.
In the interests of further success on the part of Hungarian enterprises within the fields of agricultural technologies and the pharmaceutical industry, the two foreign ministers began negotiations on an agreement on avoiding dual taxation and on an investment protection agreement, with relation to which Hungary has received the preliminary authorisation of the European Union, the statement highlighted.
