Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó discussed results relating to protecting against the coronavirus pandemic and international politics concerning Israel with the United States President’s Senior Advisor on the Middle East Jared Kushner.
In a Facebook post following the meeting, Mr. Szijjártó wrote that the parties had informed each other with relation to the results achieved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and expressed their mutual appreciation of their respective efforts. “In addition, we also discussed international political processes relating to Israel, and the state of the Middle East Peace Process”, he continued.
According to the Minister, he assured Jared Kushner that Hungary continues to have an interest in the success of the peace plan put forward by the Senior Advisor to the President, in view of the fact that it affords a realistic chance of there finally being peace, security and development in the Middle Eastern region.
Mr. Szijjártó stressed that Hungary regards Israel as an ally. “Accordingly, Hungary has always been against, and will continue to be against, international political approaches that are one-sided and unfair towards Israel”, the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said, reporting on the content of the discussion.
