Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó met with the leaders of Austrian settlements adjacent to the border in Győr, to discuss the permeability of border crossing stations and the new Austrian legal restrictions, the Ministry’s Minister of State for Communication said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.
In the statement, Tamás Menczer wrote that the Minister assured the settlement leaders that he will be doing everything possible to find a satisfactory solution to the situation.
Mr. Szijjártó will now be travelling to Kismarton, where he will be meeting with Governor of Burgenland Hans Niessl to discuss the same issue.
Later in the day, the Minister will be received in Vienna by Vice-Chancellor of Austria Heinz-Christian Strache and Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, the Minister of State told the press.
