Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó held talks with the Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ivan Brajović, in his office in Budapest on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry to Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday, Mr. Szijjártó congratulated Mr. Brajović on Montenegro’s performance with relation to assuring stability in the Western Balkans, also stressing that it is the Hungarian Government’s goal for the European Union to open three new chapters in its accession negotiations with Montenegro before the end of this year. “Hungary is a committed supporter of EU enlargement in the direction of the Western Balkans”, the Foreign Minister said.
Also discussed at the talks was the fact that Hungarian enterprises continue to show an active interest in Montenegrin market opportunities, which the Speaker of Parliament received positively, the statement reads.
