Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó assured his negotiating partners, who he received in Budapest on Tuesday, with relation to the protection of Christian communities.

In a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade wrote: Péter Szijjártó received the United States President’s domestic policy advisor Joe Grogan, Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bonnie Glick, and Pastor Andrew Brunson.

At the meeting, the Hungarian Foreign Minister emphasised: “Hungary continues to keep the protection of Christian communities at the focal pint of its foreign policy”.

Mr. Szijjártó confirmed Hungary’s position according to which assistance must be taken to where the trouble is, and accordingly Hungary will continue to provide aid to the Middle Eastern and African regions.

During the course of negotiations, the Foreign Minister highlighted: “Hungary rejects the fact that the international community is treating anti-Christianity as the last acceptable form of discrimination”.
