Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó received the European Commission’s Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager in his office on Thursday, the Ministry said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday morning.

According to the statement, the Hungarian Foreign Minister told the Commissioner that Hungary has an interest in a strong and competitive European Union, but that this also requires space for competition within the European Union.

“Hungary will continue to base is economic policies on job-creation and low taxes in future”, the statement reads.
