Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó will be meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba next Wednesday.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the Hungarian Minister said he had phoned his Ukrainian counterpart en route to an event to announce investment projects in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. “We must somehow push our negotiations aimed at improving Ukrainian-Hungarian relations out of the current rut, and for this reason we agreed to meet in Ungvár (Uzhhorod) next Wednesday and open the academic year at the II. Rákóczi Ferenc Carpathian Basin Hungarian College in Beregszász (Berehove) together”, Mr. Szijjártó wrote.
“I have had no doubts with relation to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister’s personal commitment thus far, and it has now transpired that I was correct”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade wrote. Mr. Szijjártó expressed his hope that the negotiations will be successful “in view of the fact that the success of Transcarpathia is in our mutual interests”.
