“Poland will always be able to count on Hungary’s support during the course of European Union proceedings launched against it”. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI following a telephone conversation with his Polish counterpart.
According to the statement, Poland’s new Foreign Minister, Jacek Czaputowicz thanked Hungary for its support, adding that Poland is a firm supporter of the goals of Hungary’s current Presidency of the Visegrád Group (V4). The Polish Foreign Minister also confirmed his country’s intent with relation to cooperation in the interests of European Union enlargement in the Western Balkans.
“In disputes with the European Union, be they about migration or the following programming period, the Hungarian and Polish governments will be cooperating as close allies”, Mr. Szijjártó said.
