“Six aeroplanes will be arriving in Budapest on Wednesday, bringing 12 million masks, 30 thousand overalls and 200 thousand face protectors, amongst others”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on his Facebook page.

“Healthcare is one of the fronts in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic”, the Minister explained. “One of the very important indicators and prerequisites of healthcare protection is that doctors and nurses are equipped with a sufficient quantity and quality of protective equipment”, he said. “From this perspective, Wednesday’s shipment, which will be brought to Budapest by a total of six planes, is highly significant. Onboard the planes are 12 million facemasks, in addition to a complete production line that will assure the continuous production and replacement of masks in the coming weeks and months”, the Minister highlighted.

“In addition, the aeroplanes will also be shipping 30 thousand overalls and 200 thousand face protectors to Budapest, which will of course be put at the disposal of healthcare staff in the upcoming period to protect them in the fight against the epidemic”, Mr. Szijjártó emphasised. The Foreign Minister also reported on the fact that over ten more aeroplanes transporting respirators and the various equipment, masks, face protectors, goggles and gloves needed to protect against the virus will also be landing in Hungary over the coming days.
