The Government of Hungary welcomes the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Director General confirming that the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has completed the necessary preparatory steps to start the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). By this act the road has been paved for the gradual termination of the sanctions and for removing the obstacles hampering further cooperation with Iran. Hungary highly appreciates the persistent efforts and the strong political commitment regarding implementation of all negotiating countries and the EU.
Hungary has always regarded Iran as a highly important member of the international community and an unavoidable stakeholder in establishing peace and security in the region. The report of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Director General is a milestone that has opened new perspectives for engaging in a comprehensive cooperation with Iran as well as for strengthening regional stability.
