The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary reconfirms its commitment to an independent, democratic, stable, modern and prosperous Ukraine among its internationally recognized borders.

The Hungarian position concerning the “elections” held on the 2 November 2014 in certain territories of Donbass is reflected in the Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad countries and the United Kingdom, dated 30 October 2014.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary therefore disapproves of any action aimed at legitimatizing the “elections” in question by foreign or domestic actors, or entities or representatives of political parties. Hence the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary firmly disassociates itself from the fact that the representative of the “Jobbik” Party participated in the above mentioned “elections” among the internationally non-recognised group of observers.
