The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade was deeply shocked by the news of the armed attack committed at Kenya’s Garissa University.

Currently we have no information confirming that Hungarian citizens are staying in the area, so it is likely the attack does not have any Hungarian victims. The Ministry has been continuously following the ongoing events with the help of the Embassy of Hungary in Kenya.

The institution condemns the cruelties driven by hatred in the strongest terms; this crime against the inviolability of human life is by no means justifiable. We express our sympathies to the families of the victims and share their pain.
