The Government of Hungary has learnt with great concern and dismay of this morning’s bomb blasts in the centre of Jakarta. Hungary condemns all mindless acts of terrorism committed under the guise of religious or political ideologies, which are taking place in an increasing number of regions around the world. These attacks are indiscriminate and target innocent victims irrespective of religious background or nationality.

The Government of Hungary expresses its deep condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased and injured and to the Government and people of Indonesia in this time of grief and distress. Hungary is confident that Indonesia, having achieved exemplary results in building democracy, will defeat the threat of terrorism, find and bring to justice the perpetrators and continue to work on furthering its spectacular economic and social progress.  Hungary offers its support to the leadership and people of the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation in this endeavour.
