“The countries of the V4 are preparing for one of the largest investments in the history of the Visegrád Group with the construction of the Budapest-Bratislava-Ostrava-Warsaw high-speed railway line”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI after Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó received Vice-President of the European Development Bank (AIB) Vazil Hudák.
The preparation of the feasibility study is already underway, and the four countries are counting on the participation of the European Development Bank in the project’s financing.
At the meeting, the parties welcomed the establishment of the EIB V4 investor platform, in addition to which Mr. Szijjártó assured the EIB Vice-President that Hungary is supporting the continuation of the Bank’s activities in the Western Balkans and the countries of the Eastern Partnership, the Ministry wrote in the statement.
