“Cooperation between Hungary and Angola has a long history, and its development is in the interests of both countries”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a Facebook post of Friday following a phone conversation with Angola’s new Foreign Minister, Tete Antonio.
“The Angolan government would be happy to entrust technological development projects within the fields of information technology, digital governance and water management to Hungarian enterprises, and accordingly we have agreed on the convening of our Joint Economic Committee”, Mr. Szijjártó emphasised. “In addition, we will be accelerating negotiations concerning agreements on avoiding double taxation and the mutual protection of investments”, he added. The Minister also mentioned that his Angolan counterpart had thanked Hungary for the fact that the Hungarian government is providing 50 scholarship places for Angolan students to attend Hungarian universities.
