“Enterprises that are taking part in the fight against unemployment can count on the government’s support”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó emphasised on Friday in Kazincbarcika, where he presented a funding certificate to Green Plan Energy Environmental Protection Limited within the framework of the Competitiveness-Increasing Program.
“The vitality of the Hungarian economy is indicated by the fact that 904 Hungarian enterprises have committed themselves to realising investment projects during the current, difficult period, and are performing 425 billion forints (EUR 1.177 billion) in investment, thanks to which they are protecting 155 thousand workplaces”, Mr. Szijjártó highlighted.
“Hungary is also a frontrunner with relation to environmental protection, and is one of only 21 countries in the world that was capable of increasing its economic performance while also reducing its carbon dioxide emissions”, the Minister pointed out. “Green Plan Energy Ltd. is performing a technological development program that is determinative with relation to the future competitiveness of Hungary’s solar energy sector” Mr. Szijjártó explained. “The government is providing 282 million forints (EUR 780 thousand) in state funding towards the company’s 593-million-forint (EUR 1.64 million) investment project, with which is it protecting 83 workplaces”, he indicated.
“Hungary’s goal is for 91 percent of domestic electricity production to be carbon dioxide-free by 2030, which can be achieved through the use of nuclear energy and solar energy. Solar energy production requires new technologies with which the sector can be made competitive”, the Minister emphasised. As he explained, Green Plan Energy will be acquiring production lines that fit rotatable support structures to ground-based solar panels, thanks to which the panels that collect solar energy can rotate during the hours of daylight to ensure that they are able to achieve the highest possible electricity production performance. “The innovation being brought in by the company will increase the electricity production of solar energy cells by 20 percent”, he noted, adding that previously this equipment had to be imported from abroad. “The products being manufactured in Kazincbarcika will be in high demand not just within the Hungarian energy economy, but also in the global energy economy”, he stated.
Mr. Szijjártó also spoke about the fact that Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County is a special place in Hungary, which for a long time was spoken about as the country’s least developed region, but where industrial production has increased by 72 percent since 2010, and today the County is the fourth most popular target for investment in Hungary. “Amidst the current, difficult circumstances, 39 enterprises from Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County have committed themselves to realising investment projects and are performing a total of 20 billion forints (EUR 55.4 million) in investment in the County, with which they are protecting 11,500 workplaces, and towards the government is providing over 9 billion points (EUR 24.9 million) in state funding”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said.
