Hungary cannot be a bystander of the continuous attacks against Christian communities in the Middle East. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó instructed the Ambassador of Hungary to Cairo to contact Pope Tawadros II of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Leaders of the Coptic Orthodox Church visited the families of the Christians ruthlessly killed in Libya. They said that having lost their only breadwinners, the greatest help for them would be support to set up their own private businesses whereby they can earn their living. Péter Szijjártó decided that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade shall provide financial support worth EUR 500 for these families. The aid will be sent to the Hungarian Embassy in Cairo today which may be handed over this week.
