“Once the epidemic is over, the successful rebooting of the economy will also depend on new investments”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.

At the official announcement of S2G Ltd’s investment project, Mr. Szijjártó emphasised that Hungary’s investment policy, which has reacted quickly to the changing environment, is creating favourable conditions for the rebooting of the Hungarian economy with new loan opportunities, tax cuts and wage supplements. “It will be precisely this quick take-off that will determine competition within the global economy following the virus”, he added. In view of the conditions, the Minister said he sees a special significance in the fact that a leading American service provide is establishing a regional customer service office in Hungary. “To date, the company has only established service centres abroad, and the new Budapest office will be one of its first units outside the American continent. S2G is already employing 250 Hungarian workers, and this number will be increasing to 300 by the end of the year”, the Minister stated.

Mr. Szijjártó said that in his opinion the global pandemic has overwritten all previous plans and forecasts, but despite this, yet another major investor has decided in favour of Hungary. “All this indicates that Hungarian-American relations have not even been disrupted by the extraordinary situation, and trust between the two parties remains strong”, he declared. According to the Minister, the 120 service centres operating in Hungary will contribute to the success of the economy’s dimensional transition, and Hungary will succeed in overcoming the economic difficulties in 2020, just as it did after 2010.
Chief Operating Officer of S2G Ltd. Péter Nagy spoke about the fact that the company’s goal is to acquire a determining share of the European market. Praising the performance of Hungarian workers, he highlighted the adaptability of Hungarian employees, which he said was outstanding within the global job market competition. S2G operates service centres throughout the American continent, in addition to the United States, employing some 4 thousand people. In addition to Europe, the other target for the company’s global expansion is the Pacific Ocean region, where it will also be opening a new office soon.
